Iran-Israel Tensions; U.S. B-52 Bombers Arrive in the Middle East
Bayan News – The U.S. Central Command has announced the arrival of American B-52 Stratofortress bombers in the Middle East. The U.S. Department of Defense had recently stated that these bombers were being deployed to the region to bolster the U.S. stance in the Middle East.
Meanwhile, the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln and three American destroyers are scheduled to return to their base in San Diego, USA, by mid-November. The Pentagon has affirmed that it will fully defend itself if Iran or its proxy groups target U.S. interests in the region.
Pentagon Air Force spokesperson Patrick Ryder stated, “If Iran, its partners, or proxies attempt to target American personnel or interests in the region from this moment forward, the United States will take all necessary actions to defend its people.”
Over the past year, since the outbreak of conflict between Israel and Hamas, the U.S. has deployed two aircraft carriers in the Middle East. The latest changes in American forces in the region follow October’s missile exchanges between Israel and Iran.
Israel is also engaged in fighting against Iranian-backed Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon, while conducting strikes in Yemen following attacks by Iranian-linked Houthi fighters. The United States has pledged to defend Israel against attacks and to assist in protecting American forces in the Middle East.
