Taliban Interim Government: Forced Return of Migrants from Iran and Pakistan Intensifies
Bayan News – As winter approaches, officials from the Taliban’s interim government report that the forced repatriation of migrants from Iran and Pakistan has intensified.
Maulvi Abdul Rahman Rashid, Deputy Minister for Refugees and Repatriation, made these remarks on Monday (November 4) during a meeting with Maulvi Abdul Salam Hanafi, the Taliban’s Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs.
This Taliban official stated that, despite the increase in forced returns, the resettlement of returning migrants in Afghanistan is being managed effectively.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Prime Minister urged relevant authorities to make greater efforts to ensure that returning migrants do not face resettlement difficulties, especially with the onset of winter.
This comes amid reports that the Islamic Republic of Iran has recently been expelling approximately three thousand Afghan migrants daily through the Dogharoon border back into Afghanistan.
