Seventeenth Anniversary of Kazemi’s Shahid; He Is the Symbol of Afghanistan’s “Collective Conscience”
Bayan News – A group of political and human rights activists issued messages of condolence on the seventeenth anniversary of the Shahid of Sayed Mustafa Kazemi, leader of the National Empowerment Party and former chairman of the Economic Commission in Afghanistan’s Parliament.
They once again described him as the architect of national unity in the country.
Zahra Kazemi, a human rights activist, added in a message that commemorating the seventeenth anniversary of Sayed Mustafa Kazemi’s Shahid, the architect of national unity, symbolizes awakening and collective conscience.
In her message, Ms. Kazemi stated, “He (Shahid Kazemi), with sacrifice and a heart full of love for his homeland, gave his life for the ideals of freedom and justice for his people. That bitter incident once again revealed the oppression and cruelty of the nation’s enemies.”
The human rights activist emphasized, “His memory will remain in our hearts, strengthening our resolve to pursue his ideals and protect the human values he fought for.”
Similarly, Sayed Baqir Mohseni, a political activist and close associate of Shahid Kazemi, expressed in a message that Shahid Kazemi loved his country sincerely and wholeheartedly and worked tirelessly to strengthen the foundations of unity and national cohesion.
In his message, Mr. Mohseni highlighted that Shahid Kazemi was a unifying force among ethnic groups and a crucial factor in fostering restraint and political tolerance among various factions. He possessed great talent and capacity for building bridges and overcoming grievances and divisions.
The political activist further said, “He worked selflessly and sincerely for his people and country, sacrificing his life in this cause. The loss of Shahid Kazemi was an irreparable tragedy for a budding Afghanistan, and this absence is still felt today.”
Seventeen years ago, while leading an Afghan parliamentary delegation, Shahid Sayed Mustafa Kazemi was assassinated in an armed attack in Baghlan Province in northern Afghanistan.
