Increase in Trade Between Afghanistan and Turkey to $94 Million

Bayan News – The Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Taliban’s caretaker government has announced an increase in trade volume between Afghanistan and Turkey, reaching $94 million.

Abdul Salam Jawad, the spokesperson for the ministry, recently stated that over the past ten months, the trade volume between Afghanistan and Turkey has grown from $21 million to $94 million.

The spokesperson added to media outlets affiliated with the Taliban’s government that this trade volume corresponds to the period from January to October of this year.

According to the Taliban official, Afghanistan’s exports to Turkey include dried fruits, while imports from Turkey consist of medicinal plants, carpets, and stoves.

Meanwhile, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Turkey’s Minister of Transport, met earlier this year with Hamidullah Akhundzada, the Taliban’s caretaker Minister of Transport and Aviation, in Istanbul to discuss economic issues.

Uraloğlu emphasized that Turkey is strengthening its relations with Afghanistan in all areas, from transportation to trade.

The increase in trade between Afghanistan and Turkey comes as, over the past year, goods from both countries have been transported via railway.

Since coming to power, the Taliban’s caretaker government has focused heavily on mineral resources and developing the railway infrastructure.
