The Fall of Damascus to Armed Islamist Opposition; Assad Has Left Damascus
Bayan News – International media reported early Sunday (December 8) that Islamist rebels entered Damascus, the capital of Syria, and took control of the city.
According to CNN, Bashar al-Assad, the President of Syria, is not present in Damascus, and sources indicate that he has not been seen in the usual locations where he is expected to be.
Meanwhile, the Syrian Presidency has denied reports of Assad leaving Damascus.
However, some Iranian media outlets have reported that Assad and his entourage have departed from Damascus.
Yesterday, reports surfaced that Assad’s family has moved to Russia.
Nevertheless, it remains unclear where Bashar al-Assad is hiding or to which country he has gone, as no information about his whereabouts is currently available to the media.
