Uzbekistan Promises Increased Investment in Afghanistan

Bayan News – Aybek Arif, Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Kabul, stated that his country is ready to increase investments in Afghanistan in areas such as healthcare centers, cement factories, and coal trade.

The Uzbek ambassador made this promise on Monday (December 23) during a meeting with Abdul Salam Hanafi, the administrative deputy prime minister of the interim government.

During the meeting, Hanafi emphasized the importance of strengthening and expanding relations between the two countries and assured that the Taliban would provide all necessary facilities for traders and investors.

The Uzbek ambassador also mentioned that investors from Uzbekistan are prepared to invest in healthcare centers, medicine imports, cement factory construction, and coal purchase and trade in Afghanistan.

This comes after the administrative deputy prime minister of the interim government led a high-level delegation to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, last month.

Uzbekistan, one of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries, maintains close political and economic ties with the interim government but has yet to officially recognize the Taliban government.
