Qatar and Indonesia to Host International Conference on Girls’ Education in Afghanistan

Bayan News – Qatari authorities have announced that Doha and Jakarta will host an international conference on girls’ education in Afghanistan, but further details about the conference have not been provided.

Jawahera bint Abdulaziz Al Suwaidi, Qatar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Human Rights Council, stated that Indonesia and Qatar are ready to host a conference on girls’ education in Afghanistan.

The 55th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, held in Geneva, concluded yesterday. Permanent representatives of countries expressed concerns about the human rights situation in Afghanistan during the session.

Qatar’s Permanent Representative in Geneva stated that Afghanistan has faced war, terrorism, poverty, and natural disasters over several decades, and it currently grapples with economic, social, and human rights challenges.

Earlier, Doha hosted a United Nations conference with the participation of special representatives from 25 countries.
