Former Deputy Minister of Information and Culture of Afghanistan, residing in the United States, has been arrested on charges of sexual assault

Bayan News – It has been reported that Haroon Hakimi, the former Deputy Minister of Information and Culture of Afghanistan, has been arrested by the Prince William City Police in Virginia, USA, on charges of sexually assaulting a 27-year-old woman.

This matter, which has also been echoed in American media, is said to involve a 27-year-old woman accusing Haroon Hakimi of sexually assaulting her in his home.

According to media reports, the Prince William City Police have stated that their officers have visited the residence of the former Deputy Minister of Information and Culture of Afghanistan for investigation.

American media outlets have stated that it appears that this woman had a prior relationship with Mr. Hakimi before making the allegation of assault.

Haroon Hakimi was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Information and Culture just a few months before the fall of Ashraf Ghani’s government.
