Russian President: Moscow Has No Interest in War with NATO
Bayan News – Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, states that Moscow has no interest in engaging in war with the NATO alliance.
Russian state television, on the eve of the two-year anniversary of Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine, has released a segment of Putin’s interview in which he states that his country has no inclination to enter into war with NATO member countries.
Putin makes these remarks while leaders of Western countries had previously expressed concerns about Russia’s military aggression towards NATO member countries.
Joe Biden, the President of the United States, had stated during one of his election campaigns that Russia intends to attack NATO members.
However, Putin dismissed these statements by Western leaders as absurd and said, “Russia has no geopolitical, economic, political, or military reason or benefit to wage war against NATO member countries.”
The Russian President also reiterated that the West had mistakenly believed that after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russia would be destroyed in a short period of time.
Over the course of nearly two years since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Western countries provided financial and armament assistance to Kyiv, but even with that, they did not impede the advancement of the Russian army in certain parts of Ukraine.
