Iranian President travels to Pakistan

Bayan News – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, in his first foreign trip after wide tensions with Israel, has set off on a three-day trip to Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.

According to Pakistani media reports, Raisi was received by the Pakistani Minister of Labor, Riaz Hussain Pirzada, on Monday (April 22) at the Noor Khan Air Base.

As per the published reports, President Raisi will first meet and hold talks with Shahbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Express Tribune newspaper reported that this trip had been planned before the recent tensions between Iran and Israel and was part of efforts to improve relations with Pakistan, which had soured in January due to missile attacks.

According to the report, further strengthening Pakistan-Iran relations and enhancing cooperation in various fields including trade, connectivity, energy, agriculture, and people-to-people communications are on the agenda for both sides.

They will also discuss regional and global developments and bilateral cooperation in combating the common threat of terrorism.

This is President Raisi’s first trip to Pakistan amid increasing tensions between Iran and Israel.
