Qomi Expressed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Position Regarding the Third Doha Meeting
Bayan News – Hassan Kazemi Qomi, the Iranian President’s special representative for Afghanistan, explained the purpose of participating in the third Doha meeting.
On Sunday (June 30), he wrote on the X platform that the purpose of the participation of special representatives of countries in the Doha meeting is to clarify Tehran’s positions and concerns regarding Afghanistan.
The Iranian President’s special representative further wrote: “Our goal is to explain the positions, convey Tehran’s concerns about Afghanistan, and explain the Islamic Republic of Iran’s humanitarian policies regarding the nationals present in the country (Iran) to the United Nations officials and the participating countries of the meeting.”
Qomi expressed that the complex and critical situation in Afghanistan and the region requires comprehensive consultations with all parties.
He expressed the hope that the upcoming negotiations will lead to a reduction in the suffering of the Afghan people and bring peace, stability, security, sustainable development, and a government based on the free will of the people without the interference and dominance of foreigners.
Today, the third Doha meeting began under the chairmanship of the United Nations Deputy Secretary-General.
