Afghan Citizens Have Invested $3 Billion in Iran

Bayan News – Iranian media, citing Mahmoud Siadat, the head of the Iran-Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce, have reported that citizens of this country have invested about $3 billion in Iran.

According to ISNA, the President of the Afghanistan-Iran Chamber of Commerce said on Tuesday (July 9) that 50% of foreign companies registered in Iran belong to Afghan citizens.

Siadat said: “Today, more than 50% of foreign companies registered in Iran are Afghan companies.”

This Iranian official further stated that Afghan nationals are the largest foreign investors in Iran.

According to Siadat, private sector organizations in the field of trade with Afghanistan and the joint chamber of the two countries are important and vital for the growth of the economy.

Mahmoud Siadat has also proposed that to grow the economies of Afghanistan and Iran, support should be provided to Afghan economic activists and their capabilities should be utilized.

However, with the collapse of the republican system and the Taliban’s renewed control over Afghanistan, many Afghan citizens who were active in the commercial sector have transferred their capital to Iran and other countries.
