The foreign ministers of the Group of Seven warned of the dire consequences of tensions in the Middle East
Bayan News – Amid the escalation of tensions regarding Iran’s retaliation against Israel, the foreign ministers of the Group of Seven say that, under any circumstances, the retaliation and escalation of tensions in the Middle East region must be prevented.
In their statement, which was released on Sunday evening (August 4), they have called on all the parties involved to refrain from actions that could escalate the tensions.
The statement also mentions that efforts to establish a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of Israeli hostages should be intensified.
According to the statement, the foreign ministers expressed their grave concerns about the recent events that could lead to the expansion of the crisis in the region during a video conference.
The statement reads: “We call on the parties involved to refrain from any action that could disrupt the path of dialogue and lead to an escalation of tensions.”
However, the level of insecurity in the Middle East region has risen sharply after the war between Israel and Hamas. Recently, the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran has greatly escalated these tensions, and it is likely that Iran will attack Israel for retaliation.
