The United Arab Emirates Has Accepted the Letter of Credence of the Taliban Ambassador

Bayan News – The Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Wednesday (August 21) that the United Arab Emirates has accepted the letter of credence of their ambassador.

The ministry wrote on the X platform that Badraldin Haqqani, the Taliban’s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, has submitted his letter of credence to the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Taliban’s Foreign Ministry statement also specified that Saif Abdullah Al Shamssi, the Deputy Chief of Protocol at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received these credentials.

Meanwhile, the Taliban quoted Al Shamssi as saying that he described the appointment of their group’s new ambassador as a way to “further strengthen” the “useful” relations.

However, after coming to power in Afghanistan, the Taliban have established close relations with the UAE.

In addition to the UAE, countries such as China, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan have formally accepted the credentials of Taliban ambassadors.
