Two Afghan Migrants Die While Working in Isfahan, Iran
Bayan News – Iranian media reported on Wednesday (August 21) that, according to officials in Kashan, Isfahan, two Afghan migrants died after a wall collapsed.
According to the reports, excavation at a depth of four meters caused the wall to collapse.
Roholah Fadaie, a spokesperson for the Kashan Fire and Safety Department, told the ISNA news agency: “13 firefighters were dispatched to the scene and, after rescue and search operations, they extricated the workers from the rubble.”
He said that despite the rescuers’ efforts, the Afghan workers had lost their lives.
Iranian media did not provide details about the identity of the Afghan workers.
Afghan migrant workers in Iran work in the most difficult jobs, but lack many rights, such as health insurance.
