Prime Minister of Pakistan: The TTP’s use of Afghan territory is not a hidden issue
Bayan News – As tensions escalate between the Taliban government in Afghanistan and Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, once again claimed that the TTP (Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan) is using Afghan territory against Pakistan.
Mr. Sharif made these statements yesterday (August 27) during a cabinet meeting in Pakistan. The cabinet meeting was held a day after deadly attacks by separatists in Balochistan.
In the latest incident, more than 70 people were killed in an armed attack by Baloch separatists.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan explicitly stated in this meeting that the TTP organizes its attacks against Pakistan from Afghan territory, and this is not a secret. “It is no longer hidden that the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan designs its attacks from Afghan soil.”
Sharif also expressed, “They intend to disrupt the development of Balochistan and other parts of the country through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.”
He emphasized that the government of Pakistan will take serious actions in the fight against terrorism.
On the other hand, senior Taliban security officials announced on Wednesday (September 7) in a press conference that Islamabad has not presented any evidence regarding the presence of the TTP on Afghan soil.
Fasiuddin Fetrat, the Chief of Staff of the Pakistan Army, added in this press conference that the TTP controls areas within Pakistan and organizes its attacks against Pakistan from there.
