Two Former Afghan Soldiers Drown in the U.S.

Bayan News – U.S. media outlets have reported that two Afghan citizens drowned in the Salt River in the state of Arizona, United States.

The media identified the two Afghan citizens as 25-year-old Abdul Masour Khalqi and 27-year-old Mohammad Salman Nasiri, noting that they were former soldiers of the previous Afghan government.

According to Fox News, Khalqi and Nasiri, who were cousins, drowned in the river five days ago.

Khalqi, who worked as a security officer alongside U.S. forces in Kabul, had arrived in the state of Arizona several years ago along with other at-risk Afghans.

Juliana Larsen, founder of the Arizona Refugee Center, stated: “They came to America to escape the Taliban, and then this tragedy occurred.”

Khalqi had left Kabul three years ago with his two brothers, sister, father, and mother during the evacuation operation.

According to reports, Nasiri was also a police officer in the previous Afghan regime and a student.

The Arizona Refugee Center has called for financial assistance for the families of these two young Afghan men.
