Release of 25 Afghan Citizens from Iraqi Prisons

Bayan News – On Saturday, October 12, the Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation announced the release of 25 Afghan citizens from prisons in Iraq.

In a statement, the ministry said that these individuals returned to Afghanistan yesterday.

According to the statement from the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation, these individuals had been imprisoned for six months in various provinces of Iraq due to lacking legal travel documents.

The ministry added that, after their release, they returned to Afghanistan through Iran.

The Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation stated that upon arrival at the border region of Nimruz province, they were registered and referred to the International Organization for Migration to receive assistance.
