Public Punishment of Accused Individuals: Taliban Flogged 14 People in Kabul and Khost

Bayan News – On Thursday (October 17), the Taliban’s Supreme Court announced that six people, including two women in Kabul, and eight people in Khost province, were publicly punished.

In a statement, the court stated that these individuals were convicted in public on charges of sexual relations, document forgery, and bribery.

According to the Taliban’s Supreme Court, the accused in Khost were publicly flogged with 35 lashes and each sentenced to one year in prison. Additionally, an eighth accused individual in Khost was sentenced to 39 lashes and two years in prison.

Furthermore, the Taliban’s Supreme Court reported that six people, including two women, were flogged in the Deh Sabz district of Kabul. The statement mentioned that these individuals were publicly punished on Wednesday (October 16) on charges of extramarital relations and sodomy.

According to the court, the Taliban’s primary court in Deh Sabz sentenced four of the accused to one year in prison and 39 lashes each. Two other accused were sentenced to three months in prison and 39 lashes each.

This comes as the Taliban have flogged several individuals in recent days across various provinces.
