Italian Ambassador: My Primary Mission Will Be Addressing the Situation of Afghan Women
Bayan News – Sabrina Ugolini, the new Italian ambassador to Afghanistan, has stated that addressing the human rights situation and the rights of Afghan women will be a primary focus of her mission.
The Italian government recently appointed a woman as ambassador for Afghanistan, who will carry out her duties from Doha, the capital of Qatar.
In a message posted on the platform X, Ugolini added: “I take on the role of Italian ambassador for Afghanistan, based in Doha, with responsibility and honor. In line with Italy’s humanitarian commitment to the Afghan people, human rights and the situation of women and girls will be the core of my mission.”
Before Ugolini, this position was held by Natalia Quintavalle.
The European Union’s delegation has welcomed the appointment of the new Italian ambassador for Afghanistan, extending their wishes for Ugolini’s success in a statement on the social platform X.
