Iranian Security Forces Arrest Armed Afghan in Tehran
Bayan News – Iranian media reported on Sunday evening (November 3) that security agents arrested an armed Afghan national in the “Yaftabad” area of Tehran.
Akbar Mousavi, Social Deputy of the Tehran Police Intelligence Organization, stated: “Officers from the Fifth Police Base received information about an armed individual displaying a firearm and causing significant fear and panic in the Yaftabad area.”
The Iranian security official added that, after verifying the report, they confirmed that the suspect was an Afghan citizen who fled the scene after firing several shots into the air.
According to him, following a thorough investigation, security forces were able to apprehend the individual in a small room located on the rooftop of a residential building in Yaftabad.
The Social Deputy of the Tehran Police Intelligence Organization noted, “From this room belonging to the Afghan national, police discovered two knives with sheaths, a handgun with a corresponding magazine, four pellet bullets, and a brass knuckle. The suspect, along with the seized items, was referred to the judiciary.”
Tehran police have not provided additional details on this case. This is the first time an Afghan citizen has been arrested while armed in Tehran.
