The Afghan currency has increased by 40% in the Iranian foreign exchange market
Bayan News – It has been reported that the Afghan currency has risen by 40% in the Iranian foreign exchange market compared to the past year.
According to Tejarat News, the Afghan currency has experienced a greater increase in the Tehran currency market over the past year than the Emirati dirham and Turkish lira.
According to this Iranian media report, yesterday (November 11), the Afghan currency decreased by 1.83% to reach 992 toman, while last year at this time it was traded at a rate of 694 toman.
The report also mentions that during the peak of the Iran-Israel conflict, the value of the Afghan currency even reached 1146 toman.
However, the increase in the Afghan currency has not only occurred against the Iranian currency, but the value of the Afghan currency has also significantly increased against the dollar and euro.
Economists believe that the reduction in liquidity and international financial aid to Afghanistan are some of the reasons that have helped maintain the value of the Afghan currency.
However, due to political changes in Afghanistan and banking issues, the country is facing more import restrictions, resulting in a decreased demand for foreign currencies and less pressure for converting afghanis to other currencies.
