Deadly Attack on a Sufi Shrine in Baghlan; ISIS Claims Responsibility
Bayan News – The ISIS group has claimed responsibility for an attack on a Sufi shrine in the Nahrin district of Baghlan province.
On Saturday evening (November 23), the ISIS-Khorasan branch issued a statement claiming that 10 people were killed and several others injured in the attack.
On Thursday night, armed assailants attacked the “Shrine of Sayed Padshah Agha Sadat” in the old city of Nahrin district, Baghlan, killing 10 people.
The Taliban’s police command in Baghlan confirmed the attack and announced the arrest of “several suspects,” but their identities have not yet been disclosed.
Since the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, followers of Sufism have repeatedly been targeted in deadly attacks in Kabul and several other provinces across the country.
