Human Rights Day; Mujahid: In Our View, the Rights of the People Are Ensured

Bayan News – Amid ongoing violations of women’s and girls’ rights in Afghanistan, Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the interim government, claims that the current administration has ensured the rights of the people.

Mujahid made these remarks on Tuesday (December 10) during a broadcast on the state-run national television.

In an audio statement, the interim government spokesperson added that the most fundamental right of humanity is the protection of human lives, which he asserted has been safeguarded under the new administration.

He further claimed that judicial and legal institutions are actively working to ensure individuals’ rights and are operating consistently.

Mujahid stated, “In our view, the rights of the people are ensured, which in the past were at risk of being violated, threatened, and faced numerous challenges.”

According to the spokesperson, Afghanistan’s current government defines and enforces rights based on the nation’s value framework.

However, Mujahid did not address the issue of women’s and girls’ right to work and education in Afghanistan.
