Local Authorities in Herat Ban Girls’ Education in Training Courses
Bayan News – Reports from Herat province in western Afghanistan indicate that the Directorate of Education has prohibited girls from participating in training courses.
On Sunday (December 23), the Directorate of Education issued a formal notice to all educational centers in the province, stating that the ban on education also applies to girls attending training courses.
One of the officials from the training centers in Herat told Afghan-related media that they had received a written order from the Directorate of Education in Herat province banning girls from being educated in these centers.
Previously, some girls in Herat province were learning English in training courses, and this practice continues in certain provinces of Afghanistan, particularly in Kabul.
Over the past three years, the interim government initially closed schools to girls and subsequently banned girls from pursuing higher education at universities.
