Pakistani Airstrikes in Paktika and Khost; Interim Government’s Defense Ministry: “We Will Not Leave It Unanswered”

Bayan News – The Defense Ministry of the interim government has responded to the airstrikes conducted by the Pakistani military in the provinces of Paktika and Khost, warning that these attacks will not go unanswered.

The ministry, in a statement issued on Tuesday night (December 24), reported that the Barmal district of Paktika was targeted by Pakistani airstrikes in the evening.

The statement claimed that these airstrikes targeted civilians, most of whom were Waziristani refugees, resulting in casualties, including children, among the dead and injured.

The Defense Ministry described these attacks as a blatant violation of all international principles and a clear act of aggression, emphasizing that unilateral actions like this cannot resolve any issues.

The ministry warned: “The Islamic Emirate will not leave this cowardly act unanswered and considers it its legitimate right to defend its land and sovereignty.”

Earlier, it was reported that the Pakistani military had carried out airstrikes in the Barmal district of Paktika and the Spera district of Khost.

According to sources, the Pakistani military targeted four hideouts of the Pakistani Taliban (TTP) in the border areas between the two countries during these strikes.

Pakistani media also reported that significant TTP hideouts were destroyed in the attacks, and several fighters affiliated with the group were killed.

A Pakistani journalist wrote that the Pakistani military confirmed the airstrikes on their targets but noted that refugee camps were also hit during these operations.
