UK: UNAMA extension will show support for Afghan women and girls

The UNITED NATIONS Security Council has mandated its mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) for another year.
Members of the UN Security Council have ratified two memorandums of occtuation regarding the continuation of UNAMA’s activities in Afghanistan, and in the second, the Secretary-General has been askedto provide an independent assessment to assess the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan.
However, the British Foreign Affairs and Development Body issued a st
atement thursday (March 16) saying the unama extension would show support for Afghan women and girls.
Meanwhile, the U.S. envoy to the United Nations called the move important for peace and stability in Afghanistan.
In its statement, it said that the UN Assymncient mission in Afghanistan will work to ensure human rights, address the humanitarian crisis, economic crisis and talks between the Afghan sides.
