Salahuddin Rabbani, the head of Jamiat-e-Islami Afghanistan, in a meeting with Tom West, the US special representative for Afghanistan, said that the policy of only interacting with the caretaker government in Kabul is doomed to failure.
Yesterday, the special representative of the United States for Afghanistan met and talked with a number of opposition figures of the Taliban, including Rabbani, Mohammad Karim Khalili, and members of the Supreme Council of National Resistance in Istanbul, Turkey.
In his meeting with Tom West, Mr. Rabbani added that it is necessary for the international community to review how it interacts with the Taliban.
In the statement of the Jamiat Party, it is stated: “The head of the Jamiat-e-Islami emphasized on the meaningful and lasting interaction of the international community with the movements opposing the Taliban and reminded that although peace is the desired desire of the people of Afghanistan and the Jamiat-e-Islami has lost its leader to realize it, but If this demand is ignored, this party will not remain indifferent to the expectations of its people.”
In the statement of the Jamiat Party, it is stated that Rabbani had a discussion with the American representative regarding the weekly flow of huge amounts of money under the name of humanitarian aid in the absence of a transparent mechanism.
