Robert Chatterton Dixon, Chargé d’Affaires of the British Embassy in Afghanistan, has called for maintaining and improving relations between Kabul and London in a meeting with Amir Khan Motaghi, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the government.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs added in a statement on Wednesday evening (July 5) that with the domination of the Islamic Emirate, security and stability have been established in Afghanistan after decades, and he still expressed hope that the relations between Britain and Afghanistan will improve.
The Chargé d’Affaires of the British Embassy in Afghanistan added that the commitment of the acting Kabul government to strengthen security and stability in this country is understandable, and at the same time, practical steps in the field of combating drugs are commendable.
On the other hand, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his appreciation for the British government’s position of not supporting armed groups in Afghanistan.
Amir Khan Motaghi added in this meeting that the caretaker government of Kabul has requested the opening of consular services in London in order to deal with the problems of Afghans living in this country.
It should be noted that after the fall of the republican system on August 15, 2021 and the domination of the Islamic Emirate over Afghanistan, Britain stopped its consular services in this country.
This is the first meeting of the British official with the caretaker government officials in Kabul.
