Kabul Expresses Displeasure over Forced Deportation of Afghan Refugees by Turkish Government
Bayan News – Mohammad Arslah Khwazakhel, the Deputy Minister of Finance and Administration of the Ministry of Refugees and Returnees, has stated that the forced deportation of Afghan refugees by the Turkish government is not a permanent solution.
He made these remarks during a meeting with the Turkish Ambassador in Kabul, and further added that, at the same time as the forced deportation, a significant number of Afghans are entering Turkey through illegal routes.
During the meeting, Khwazakhel emphasized the issue of illegal migration of Afghans to Turkey, their repatriation to the country, and resolving the problems of migrants through bilateral meetings.
The Deputy Minister of Finance and Administration of the Ministry of Refugees and Returnees requested the Turkish Ambassador to hold sessions to discuss the legal dispatch of workers to Turkey and to address the issue.
However, the Turkish Ambassador requested the dispatch of a delegation from the caretaker government of Kabul to investigate how Afghan refugees have come to Turkey.
It should be noted that most of the illegal migration of Afghans takes place through the borders of Iran and Turkey, and in recent times, the rate of such illegal migration has increased.
Reports and videos show that Turkish border forces are illegally detaining Afghan refugees, subjecting them to torture, and forcibly sending them back, contrary to the principles of human rights.
