Representatives of the interim government of Kabul and the US emphasize the continuation of interaction
Bayan News – The Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that in the two-day talks between the Islamic Emirate delegation and the US special representative, the emphasis was on continuing negotiations and interaction.
Abdul Qahar Balkhi, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, added on Tuesday night that in this two-day meeting, the focus was on building trust between the two sides, taking practical steps in this regard, removing the names of Islamic Emirate officials from the blacklist, lifting sanctions, freeing up financial reserves, combating drugs, and human rights issues.
Balkhi continued, “The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has once again emphasized the importance of removing blacklists and sanctions and freeing up financial reserves to build their economy without foreign aid.”
According to the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides emphasized the continuation of holding such meetings, understanding, and interaction.
So far, the US special representative for Afghanistan has not commented on the two-day talks with the Islamic Emirate delegation. However, the meeting between the Islamic Emirate delegation and the US special representative in Doha, the capital of Qatar, has sparked opposition from political opponents of the interim government of Kabul.
