Qureshi Rearrested Moments After Release
Bayan News – Pakistani media reported on Thursday that Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the former Foreign Minister of Pakistan, was rearrested by the country’s police moments after his release.
Express Tribune reported that Qureshi was rearrested and transferred to an undisclosed location shortly after being released from the central prison in Rawalpindi.
According to the report, the former Pakistani Foreign Minister had previously stated during his second arrest, “I was released on bail by the Supreme Court; this is injustice. I am being punished for serving the nation.”
The media report mentioned that Qureshi’s release had been delayed until now due to his involvement in other ongoing cases.
The Pakistani media, citing an order from the Rawalpindi police, wrote that Qureshi was a member of a political party that had caused damage to private and public properties.
However, a few days ago, the Supreme Court of Pakistan had ordered the release on bail of Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of the country, and Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
