Washington provides Ukraine with a more advanced missile system

Bayan News

In a recent statement, US President Joe Biden announced that he would provide the Ukrainian military with a more advanced missile system to defend itself.

“That’s why I decided to provide Ukraine with more advanced rocket and ammunition systems so that it can more accurately target important targets on the battlefield within its own territory,” Biden told the New York Times, according to the BBC.

According to Biden, the new equipment will boost Ukraine’s defense capabilities and strengthen its position in negotiations with Russia, making a diplomatic solution more likely.

According to published reports, the system can attack targets at a distance of 70 km with several point-to-point missiles, and it has a longer range than the Ukrainian artillery.

Meanwhile, Biden’s decision has provoked a backlash from Russian President Vladimir Putin’s government. Moscow says the US move is fueling the fire of the Ukraine war.

However, the German government has also promised that an air defense system will help Ukraine.

German Chancellor Olaf Schultz told parliament that the Iris-T system is the most modern system Germany has and that Ukraine will be able to use it to defend the entire airspace of a city against Russian attacks.
