Zalmay Khalilzad, former U.S. representative for Afghanistan peace in his Ramadan message, called on kabul’s acting government to set a reliable date for reopening girls’ schools and universities.
Khalilzad congratulated the holy month of Ramadan on Thursday night (March 23) in a twiz, calling it a time of reflection and kindness.
On this occasion, he added that the Kabul acting government should reflect on its treatment of women and girls and their policy implications for Afghanistan.
He added that not allowing them (girls) to attend schools and universities is not only outrageous, but also violates their Islamic rights.
“In the near future, they should set a reliable date for the reopening of these educational institutions for women and girls,” the former US envoy for Afghanistan peace said.
