Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the Wagner group, says that he has brought his forces from Ukraine into Russia to go all the way against the Moscow army.
According to Reuters, he published an audio message on his Telegram, adding that Wagner’s fighters have entered the city of Rotov in southern Russia and that anyone who stands in the way will be destroyed.
The head of the Wagner group, without providing evidence, claimed that the Russian army had killed a large number of his fighters in an airstrike in Ukraine.
He has warned the government of Moscow that he will catch those responsible for killing his fighters.
On the other hand, a number of Russian media have reported that the Russian government has created a security case against the head of Wagner Group.
The Russian Security Service (FSB) is said to have opened a criminal case against Prigogen and asked Wagner’s forces to disobey their boss’s orders.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that Russian military vehicles have been deployed in the Rostov region following the Wagner group’s threat to enter Russia.
According to Tass, citing a source in a Russian security service, security measures have been increased at government buildings, transport facilities and other key locations in Moscow.
Wagner is a private military company fighting for Russia in Ukraine.
