The interim government of Kabul has officially inaugurated the reconstruction process of Salang

Bayan News – highway during a ceremony on Thursday (July 12) Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the economic deputy of the interim government, called the reconstruction of Salang highway the second national major project after the Qush Tepa canal and said that after its completion, the necessary facilities for north-south transportation in the trade sector will be provided.

According to Mullah Baradar, the Islamic Emirate is ready to complete the projects with all its might and promises any cooperation to contractual companies.

The economic deputy of the government asked the contractual companies to complete the project as soon as possible with good quality and honesty.

However, the reconstruction of Salang highway, with a length of 80 kilometers, will be completed in two years with the support of the private sector, providing job opportunities for thousands of people.

Private sector representatives at the inauguration ceremony stated that Afghan trade will develop through highways, especially Salang highway, and will increase transit levels from Central Asia to South Asia.

It should be noted that the reconstruction process of Salang highway has been signed several times with various companies in the previous government, but due to poor quality and lack of supervision, it was destroyed again.
