Qomi: The region agrees on cooperation and interaction with the Taliban and fighting terrorism
Bayan News – Hassan Kazemi Qomi, the special envoy and representative of the Iranian president, said that the countries in the region agree on cooperation and interaction with the interim government in Kabul, as well as fighting terrorism and drugs.
He made these statements in a meeting with Faredoon Siniri, the United Nations Special Coordinator for Afghanistan, which was held on Monday, July 17th.
Qomi added in a tweet: “I emphasized that in the approach of cooperation and interaction with the Taliban, fighting terrorism and drugs is a consensus among the countries in the region.”
According to Qomi, in this meeting, the Iranian ambassador in Kabul also emphasized UN support for the people of Afghanistan, regional initiatives, and the formation of a comprehensive government in Kabul.
Qomi also stated that in this meeting, explanations were given about Tehran’s educational, health, and humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan.
This is not the first time that Islamic Republic officials have emphasized the formation of a comprehensive government in Afghanistan, but the officials of the interim government in Kabul have considered the current government as inclusive and in response to regional and international concerns, they have said that representatives of all ethnic groups are present in the current system.
