Dostum to Rolling Stone magazine: If America supports me politically, the issue of the Taliban will come to an end.”

Bayan News – Abdul Rashid Dostum, the leader of the Afghan Junbish-e-Milli party, claimed in a recent interview that if the United States provides him with political support, the issue of the Taliban will come to an end within 24 hours.

Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine, he said that force must be used against the Taliban and political support from Washington is necessary for success.

Dostum stated bluntly, “If I receive support and do not teach the Taliban a lesson, then I am not Dostum.”

The Afghan political figure also said in the interview that he is ready to fight against the Taliban and restore equal rights for women and minorities. He added, “Please tell the world and Joe Biden that the Pentagon, the CIA, and the generals who worked with me should ask if Dostum can do what he says. Yes, I can. If they support me politically, the issue of the Taliban will come to an end. Within 24 hours, I will be standing on a mountain in Afghanistan again.”

Referring to past wars against the Taliban, he reminded that most of the injuries are still visible on his body. “I have been wounded six times. There have been numerous bombings and horrors. Suicide bombers of bin Laden tried to kill me. Now Osama is dead. Mullah Omar is also. But I am still here,” he said.

The caretaker government officials in Kabul have not yet commented on the interview with the American magazine.

This interview comes as talks between the Islamic Emirate delegation and U.S. special representatives are currently underway in Doha, the capital of Qatar.
