Bayan News – Iranian media outlets have reported that two armed individuals opened fire on pilgrims at the Shah Cheragh Shrine in the city of Shiraz on Monday evening (August 13th).
According to the ISNA news agency, four people who were within the premises of the shrine have lost their lives, including two of them who were caretakers of the shrine.
It is said that the armed individuals entered the shrine through the Bab Al-Mahdi gate.
Iranian media have described the nature of this attack as terrorist.
It is reported that one of the armed individuals has been apprehended alive, while the other has fled the scene.
Last year, armed individuals also launched an armed attack on the Shah Cheragh Shrine, resulting in the death of 13 pilgrims.
