The Kabul interim government rejects the UNAMA report

Bayan News – Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, has responded to the publication of the recent UNAMA report, stating that the report is not true and that the general amnesty by the Islamic Emirate remains in place universally.

Mr. Mujahid wrote on social media on Wednesday, August 22, that retaliatory actions, in some cases personal and unknown, are being investigated and their numbers are limited by government agencies.

He wrote, “Unfortunately, instead of understanding the concrete realities of Afghanistan and witnessing positive developments, some sections in the United Nations corridors are always seeking out negative points and are engaged in propaganda, which ultimately damages their credibility.”

Simultaneously with the release of this report, Srajuddin Haqqani, the acting Minister of Interior, who recently traveled to Ghor, stated that the Islamic Emirate is determined to achieve unity and development in the country and is not seeking revenge.

Mr. Haqqani reiterated that the current system belongs to the people, and reform and development can only be achieved when the people and the system recognize each other.

However, UNAMA stated in its report that it has documented 800 cases of killings and mistreatment of former government employees and security personnel by the Islamic Emirate, indicating that their human rights have been violated.
