Washington: We Have No Plans to Recognize the Islamic Emirate
Bayan News – Following the imposition of restrictions on women and girls in Afghanistan, John Kirby, the spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, says that Washington has no plans to recognize the caretaker government in Kabul.
The spokesperson for the White House National Security Council stated in a press briefing to reporters that the caretaker government in Kabul needs to fulfill the commitments it has made to the international community regarding governance, particularly concerning the rights of Afghan women.
According to Kirby, the United States’ policies towards the caretaker government in Kabul have not changed, and at the same time, the Islamic Emirate is acting contrary to the desires of the international community, which undermines their international legitimacy.
Kirby further emphasized that the Al-Qaeda network in Afghanistan has been significantly weakened, and the United States is monitoring all terrorist groups in the country.
Earlier reports have also been published indicating that the Al-Qaeda network in Afghanistan has been completely eliminated.
Last year, Ayman al-Zawahiri, the leader of the Al-Qaeda network, was killed in a US drone strike in the Wakir Akbar Khan area of Kabul.
