Israel-Palestine War: The United States and Saudi Arabia Align on the Opposite Front
Bayan News – The United States and the European Union have condemned the Hamas attack on Palestinian towns, calling it terrorism. Simultaneously, Saudi Arabia regards Israel as the initiator of the war against the Palestinians.
US President Joe Biden spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday (October 7th), hours after the Hamas attack.
The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office stated that the US President emphasized Washington’s support for Israel’s right to self-defense.
In a statement from the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was stated that Israel is the aggressor in the war against the Palestinians.
The statement mentioned that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia holds Israel responsible for the repeated provocations and violation of Palestinian rights.
The country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also expressed that this undermines any hope for a swift resolution to the conflict and alters the prospects of the Abraham Accords and normalization of relations.
The interim Kabul government also expressed its support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinians and called on Islamic countries to prevent Israeli forces’ violence in the Gaza Strip.
However, with the military attacks by Hamas on Israeli towns, a new level of violence has intensified between the two countries, which have been ongoing for years.
The Israeli Prime Minister declared that the country is now at war with the Palestinians.
