UNAMA: Over 40,000 People in Herat Need Food Supplies

Bayan News – The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) office says that over 43,000 people have been affected by recent events in western Afghanistan.

On World Food Day today, Monday (October 16), the organization stated that the recent earthquakes in western Afghanistan have caused significant damage.

UNAMA added, “More than 43,350 people have been affected by these earthquakes so far and are in need of assistance, including food supplies.”

The United Nations organization also stated that relief agencies are present in vulnerable areas and are providing assistance in these regions.

In recent days, Herat province in western Afghanistan has experienced several severe earthquakes that have caused immense financial and human losses.
