Government Establishes Inter-Ministerial Committee to Attract Domestic and Foreign Investments

Bayan News – The caretaker government in Kabul has established an inter-ministerial committee with the aim of attracting domestic and foreign investments, coordinating between ministries, and providing necessary information to investors.

The establishment of this committee was approved today, Tuesday (October 17th), during the economic commission meeting chaired by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the government’s economic deputy.

According to the newsletter of the Prime Minister’s Economic Office, it states: “The objective of forming the inter-ministerial committee is to expedite the process of attracting domestic and foreign investments, coordinating between ministries and relevant departments in the implementation stages of investment projects, providing a suitable framework for investment, and ensuring good management of affairs and providing necessary information to investors regarding investment projects in Afghanistan.”

During the commission meeting, the construction of a large park in the 11th district of Kabul, named “Jahan Park,” was also approved, and the park will be built through the private sector at a cost of 960 million Afghanis.

According to the information provided in this newsletter, Jahan Park will be built on 150 acres of land, and 35% of its revenues will be allocated to the Kabul Municipality.

Over the past two years, the caretaker government in Kabul has inaugurated and put into operation several major economic projects nationwide.
