Mullah Baradar: The purpose of the trip to Iran was to search for cheaper ways of exporting and importing goods

Bayan News – Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Deputy Economic Minister of the Kabul caretaker government, returned to Kabul today, Saturday (November 10th), after a six-day trip to Iran.

The Deputy Economic Minister of the Kabul caretaker government stated in a press conference that during his trip, he met with high-ranking officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran and visited the port of Chabahar and some industrial factories in the country.

Baradar added to reporters that the purpose of his trip to Iran was to search for easier and cheaper ways of exporting Afghan products and imports, in order to expand Afghanistan’s trade.

According to the Deputy Economic Minister of the Kabul caretaker government, agreements have been signed with the Iranian government in the fields of trade, industry, transit, oil, transport, railway network, and telecommunications during this trip.

Baradar emphasized that the signing of these agreements is a great achievement for both Iran and Afghanistan and mentioned that a one-month deadline has been set for the working teams of the two countries to pursue these agreements.

He also mentioned the port of Chabahar and stated that Iranian authorities have assured Afghanistan that Afghan traders can practically use the port of Chabahar for trade, exports, imports, and transit from now on.
