Human Rights Watch: Pakistan has committed human rights abuses against Afghan refugees
Bayan News – Simultaneously with the ongoing forced expulsion of Afghan citizens by the Pakistani government, Human Rights Watch has once again accused Islamabad of violating the human rights of Afghan citizens.
In its latest report, the organization added that Pakistani authorities have committed widespread abuses against Afghan refugees and have forced them to return to their country.
According to the Human Rights Watch report, Pakistani authorities have confiscated the assets of Afghan migrants and destroyed their identity documents.
The report states that the Pakistani government has created conditions for Afghan migrants that force them to return to Afghanistan, while their homes are being demolished by the police in this country.
However, international organizations have reported that over 90% of returnees from Pakistan fear being detained by the police in that country.
Nevertheless, Pakistani authorities have provided statistics indicating that nearly 300,000 Afghan refugees have been expelled from the country in recent months.
