Kakar’s Claim: Leftover Weapons from Former Afghan Security Forces Sold on the Black Market

Bayan News – Anwar ul Haq Kakar, the interim Prime Minister of Pakistan, recently claimed that weapons and military equipment leftover from the previous Afghan government’s security forces are being sold on the black market.

He made this claim in an interview with the “Independent Urdu” newspaper but did not provide further details about his assertion.

He also mentioned the provocation by the Pakistani Taliban and added that no official talks have taken place with the interim Afghan government. However, Islamabad’s policy remains to fight against the TTP (Tahrik-i-Taliban Pakistan) to the fullest extent.

Officials from the Kabul interim government have not yet responded to the Prime Minister of Pakistan’s claim regarding the sale of leftover weapons from the previous government’s forces on the black market.

The activities of the Pakistani Taliban and the increase in insecurity within Pakistan have cast a shadow over Kabul-Islamabad relations.

Pakistani authorities claim that the TTP challenges Pakistan’s security by using Afghan soil, a claim consistently refuted by the Islamic Emirate authorities.

Nevertheless, the interim Prime Minister of Pakistan reiterated in the interview that they had previously warned the authorities of the Kabul interim government about the forced expulsion of Afghan refugees.

Kakar emphasized that those Afghans engaged in business activities but lacking necessary documents can return to Pakistan by obtaining visas.
