Deputy Economic Department of the Taliban approves the construction of the second phase of the fourth section of the Herat-Khawaf railway line
Bayan News – The head of the railway authority of the interim government in Kabul says that the Deputy Economic Department has approved the construction project for the second phase of the fourth section of the Herat-Khawaf railway line.
The head stated in a newsletter on Thursday (February 21) that the proposal for financing and procurement of the construction of this project has been approved by the Deputy Economic Department.
According to the head, the second phase of this project is 47 kilometers long and will be reconstructed from Rabat-Paryan to Herat Airport Square.
Based on published information, the Herat-Khawaf railway line, with a reconstruction of 226 kilometers, connects Afghanistan to the Iranian railway line. 77 kilometers of the railway line are in Iranian territory, and 149 kilometers are in Afghan territory.
However, after taking over in Afghanistan, the Taliban is striving to align economic projects, including connecting Afghanistan through the railway line to neighboring and Central Asian countries.
During the past two years, most exports and imports have been carried out through several railway lines with neighboring countries and the region.
