UNAMA welcomes the Taliban’s move to allow girls to enroll in medical institutes in 11 provinces.
Bayan News – The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has welcomed the Taliban’s decision to allow girls to register in medical institutes in 11 provinces of Afghanistan.
The Taliban Ministry of Public Health recently announced that girls who have completed the 12th grade can enroll in medical institutes in the provinces of Kabul, Parwan, Panjshir, Wardak, Ghazni, Paktika, Logar, Khost, Badakhshan, Bamyan, and Paktia for education.
This move by the Taliban’s Ministry of Public Health has been met with approval from the people of Afghanistan, particularly social media users.
UNAMA wrote on its X platform today, Friday (February 22nd), stating that it considers this action by the Taliban as a positive step towards addressing healthcare concerns.
The organization has urged the Taliban authorities to recognize the need for women and girls to have full access to education and learning.
