Muttaqi invites the Pakistani Foreign Minister to Kabul
Bayan News – The Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that Amir Khan Muttaqi, the interim head of the ministry, has invited the Pakistani Foreign Minister to Kabul in a telephone call.
Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takall, the Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated in a newsletter that Mr. Muttaqi had a conversation today, Sunday (March 16), with Mohammed Ishaq Dar, the Pakistani Foreign Minister.
Amir Khan Muttaqi expressed hope that his appointment would play a positive and constructive role in strengthening the relations between the two countries.
According to the Taliban’s Foreign Minister, the region is increasing its positive interactions every day, and practical work on major infrastructure projects is commencing. In this regard, it is expected that Pakistan will also contribute constructively.
The Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated that Mr. Muttaqi has invited the Pakistani Foreign Minister to Kabul.
During this telephone call, emphasis was placed on facilitating the movement of passengers, patients, and trade along the Durand Line, and efforts were made to address the existing issues between the two countries.
Mr. Muttaqi invites the Pakistani Foreign Minister to Kabul at a time when the relations between the two countries have been tense in the past few months, as Pakistani military officials claim that their country’s security is threatened from Afghan soil.
